Ambulance with no fixed address

hello, a question only for the people on here who are registered at centrelink with no fixed address. how do you cover yourself for an ambulance if you have no health insurance?

Same way as they get car insurance or personal effects insurance - take out an insurance policy.
There will be a need to do some research as to how to get a policy at a reasonable cost, but I would question why someone thinks they don't need health insurance but do need ambulance insurance.

Cheers,
Peter

Gday...

Because 'health insurance' is covered by Medicare - ambulance insurance isn't.

However, an age pensioner gets Medicare (usually bulk billed) and free ambulance cover - in their state of residence at minimum but cover is most other states.

Also, an ambulance is more likely required due to an accident rather than a health issue.

Cheers m- John

Gday...

I am registered with Electoral Commission as an itinerant - no fixed address. My contact address there is my email address where they send any advice/requests.

My vehicle and van are registered, and insured, at a physical address in VIC which also is my postal address for Centrelink (although they send all correspondence to my email) and is the postal address for anywhere else I have need to provide one.

At Centrelink my residential address changes everytime I move to a new location and lodge a rental assistance form.

Your state of residence will be wherever you have your vehicle/van registered - that's my opinion.

[edit: I have no private health cover or ambulance cover - I am on a part age pension - if I had the misfortune to need an ambulance and being a pensioner didn't cover it, I would just kill some of my investment/s and pay the bill]

Cheers - John

Gday...

I do all my rental assistance forms and details of current residential address (and everything else I can) online.

Consequently, when staying at a camp that has no charge - eg Greens Lake - I simply go online and state I am at Greens Lake campground, give the address as Midland Hwy, Corop and that there are no site fees. No need to lodge a rental assistance form as there is no need for rental assistance.

It stops any previous rental assistance (if there had been any), changes my residential address to Greens, and life goes on.

cheers - John

Interesting post,
are you saying that you can claim rental assistance while on your travels ? in Qld we have automatic Ambulance cover & I now have been told by Centrelink that I no longer have to report but when i did need to report i used the App on my Ipad, so simple.
Anything to do with Centrelink is a minefield anyway when your a little dumb like me, should be a Surfy down the beach all day ? no problems for them guys.

Cheers

My car and caravan are registered in Queensland and and I have a Queensland license, so when I decided to sell up and travel, I changed my registrations and license to my parents address which is still a Queensland address so I should be covered for ambulance because Queensland has free cover which as far as I know is Australia wide.
