Gold Coast Caravan Parks

At fairly short notice we have been invited to the Gold Coast for a 60th birthday party so we are tossing up whether to take the van then after the celebration head out to Longreach etc. Can anyone recommend a good CP that is within reasonable taxi range of Surfers as that is where the function is being held ?

Cheers

BB

Miami caravan park would be closest to Surfers Paradise. Across the road from the surf.

Main beach tourist would be the closest to Surfers but is around $50 a night , If you move futher out may cost more for taxi . hope I am not breaking any forum rule by giving this advice

My sentiments also brickies. I'm very hesitant to put up any posts, the forum police always seem to be on the lookout.

I have stayed at Broadwater Caravan Park at Southport, but you may find it fairly booked up. It is only five minutes by taxi from Surfers.

Thanks everyone for the advice I will check out the parks that you have suggested. I'm sorry if this question has somehow encouraged people to breach the forums advertising rules but that wasn't the intent.

Cheers

Thanks all, for your concern regarding following the forum rules. The messages in this thread are absolutely fine and I am happy to see that people are using their own experiences and research to help others.  Just to clarify, our ‘no advertising within posts’ rule was put in place to stop people from using forum posts to advertise their own businesses.  If anyone has a problem with this rule or does not understand it, please feel free to PM me and I would be happy to explain further.

Hi there Belmont Bears,
When we go to the Gold coast we try to get a spot at Rivergardens caravan park in Carrara, they dont have many sites so it would maybe be worth a call.
There is a bus stop out he front that will take you where ever you need to go ,into broadbeach then the train into surfers is good.
The prices there are a lot less than the ones on the strip.
cheers Lynn and reg

I can not expand frther on any of the comments thus far.

Enjoy your stay on the gold coast.

Flash back.

Back in the 1980 we use to visit two great parks on the coast. One at Runaway Bay and the other at the Florida Carotel in Maimi.

Runaway Bay also provided space along side your caravan for vehicle and a boat. Beat that.

Both have disappeared due to developers with big cheque books.

In years to come more C.Parks in top locations will also disappear on the Gold Coast for the same reason. Sign of the times
