Far East Gippsland in Winter

For many years we've been doing a 3 week trip to Far East Gippsland every Winter. The weather is reliably better than back in cold old Melbourne.

Most days start out a bit chilly but end up fine, calm & sunny. Ideal weather to go fishing in our boat.

As the day warms up we end up peeling layers of clothing off until we're down to tee shirts.

We leave our caravan back at home & stay in flats/cabins. A nice change.

The past 2 weeks have been so relaxing with no-one around, good fishing & the lakes at Mallacoota like glass almost every day.

Here's a few shots of our laid back trip so far. Who needs to head north with the crowds, not us? laughing.gif laughing.gif

A smooth ride.

Is that big bull seal still down at the caravan ramp ?
Very aggressive thing it is, it charged the wife when she got too close.

Pomme.

GONE AGES AGO. It's a boat ramp, not a launching ramp for caravans. laughing.gif laughing.gif

Yes you are very clever to notice that they only launch boats at the boat ramp in the park, i have launched my environmentally friendly kayak many times over the years down it.
traveling around the lakes areas photographing the different animals and birds, and feeding the white bellied sea-eagles.

We know them all by their first names. laughing.gif  laughing.gif

As you probably know from the Sharing Photos part of this forum nature photography is our main interest.

Wow, what an amazing location. Great pics too. Particularly love the one of the sea eagle.
