Hi we are still looking for a motorhome not to big and wondered if anyone had one of these and what advice they could give please,Jayco Conquest motorhome is built on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter. It has 2.2L turbo diesel engine and 5 speed auto transmission with 10757 km on the clock.
I am Biased I think MB Sprinters are the best vehicle for Campervans/Motorhomes.
Re the Price seems reasonable/good value, came across a 3L V6 2010 MB Conquest for $108K but the 2.2L above is a 4 Cylinder engine and will not have the same pulling power as a 3L, but to me could still A Frame a small Suzie or pull a boat.
What is the engine size ie 313, 315, 413, 316, etc?
What is the GVM and Tare ie what is the payload?
Most probably the auto is a Sprint Shift like the Fiat's not like the Later Sprinters, the low use may/maynot have issues down the track.
Another important thing is the layout, not only a good buy but will you be happy with the layout ie double bed in then rear passenger corner, effort for you/partner to get to the toilet during the night.
wow thank you all, dont know some of those answers will check again when take for test drive the layout PeterInSa is good two single beds with good mattresses and a double above cab (wont use that to old for climbing ladders LOl but good for storage has toilet shower and a pull down sink hot and cold water
Some Mh Owners with Bed over Cab have found it necessary to adjust/reinforce the front suspension because of the weight and limited travel prior to hitting the bump stops, with the low Kms of this unit I suggest that this has not been done. I have heard Kings Springs mentioned. (Note: We do not have a Mh and this may not apply to Sprinters)
