Well the next step has been taken, I have bought a 19.5 ft Coromal van and am now looking for a tow vehicle. I'm leaning towards an Isuzu Dmax space cab with a ute back and canopy fitted to floor of tray. My question is.. I am wondering if some of you out there may have a setup in the space behind the front seats where the dogs can be while travelling. I'm thinking of a custom fitted shelf with a foam mattress on top, some storage underneath, full width and with either a luggage rack or cage. I'm hopeing someone out there has the very idea I'm looking for. This would allow the dogs to be restrained as well as safe and comfy. Looking forward to some great advise.
While I can't help re the dogs may I point out that the hassle of a ute with canopy is things slide to the cab end and can then not be easily reached. A few of us on here reckon that the tradie style side bins are possibly a better option. Otherwise drawers, tubs and shelves work.
Hello and a very warm welcome. We have a dualcab colorado With a canopy. strop built a shelf n we strap washing machine in. Nothing moves. Fantastic. Dogs could sit on back seats. Good luck.
