Yep, best to get the message across with humour and hope men on this forum take notice. Regular PSA test can pick up prostate cancer early. I have prostate cancer and will go under the knife in two weeks. Because of regular blood tests I have been diagnosed early and have a good outlook post op.

Just think, you will be a cut above the rest of us after
Make sure you get back to good health & back to all you enjoy.
Had my blood test this week. No call from the Dr so must not be anything untoward.
My doctor refuses to give me any blood tests as i asked for some tests that he did not now what I was talking about. As I have a very rare disease I wanted to get levels that are critical to know according to the research I have done. I had been diagnosed with prostrate 10years ago and was given 18 months so went traveling instead and now 10 years later have never had another test. He stated that I did not need a test as I had no symptoms.

May be time to visit another Doctor, beiffe
I had not had a visit to a Doctor for a number of years, and to my knowledge never had a PSA blood test
Doctor caught me sneaking in for my flu shot, and collared me, then sent me for a mans pit stop, as she called it
My PSA reading was high, but I had no known symptoms of prostate problems, before hand
Hello all, third day post op and going well. Surgeon was happy and went as he expected. Catheter is out next Thursday then off home to the south west WA. AS for comments about symptoms there are no symptoms until it is too late and the cancer has spread. Early diagnosis from PSA test means early treatment and survival.

Cheers Tony, good news just heard from surgeon, cancer was contained so now it's looking forward to a great future. And I do intend to keep up the exercise. I hear you about the pelvic floor exercises, it has been well and truly drummed into me.
Firstly I hope stretch is all good and recovering well.
Now may a start this by saying don't just rely on PSA tests they can be misleading. I for one have a reading of 4.2 a little raised but nothing to worry about, right? WRONG. My GP gave me the good old finger and said I think it's a bit enlarged we might get a specialist to look at it. Just as well, he did a biopsy, 10 out of 12 came back cancerou. He tells me I have advanced stage 4 cancer, very aggressive so now it's waitping to find out if it's spread elsewhere.
