Road Conditions up North - Gibb River Rd & Hell’s Gate

Hi, just wondering if any of our members happen to be (or have just been) travelling the areas mentioned Above.  We had planned a trip through these areas and postponed it due to the extended Monsoon season. Wondering if anyone has any updates or perhaps can direct me to a website. If things have improved which we are hearing it has we might have a rethInk. TIA

Stick to the bitumen & you'll be right. This area is definitely a no no.

I went thru from Hells Gate to Boorallola 3 weeks ago, on a motorcycle,
Hells gate to the NT border was pretty rough. 5 river crossing that were quite deep, drowned the bike in 1 and spent 3 hours getting it running again.
2 graders had started from the Booralloola end and the road was good. They are probably finished by now.
The river levels should be lower and manageable by now.
Hell of an adventure well worth doing, I will do it again in the caravan and that will be easier than by MC.

At the time I went thru semi off road van necessary for river crossings due to clearance issues and water.  4X4 needed to get up and down the banks safely.

For the Savannah Way and all other roads in the Northern Territory you can check the latest known road conditions on roadreport.nt.gov.au/road-reports The Savannah Way is actually called Wollogorang Road and currently its marked as high clearance 4wd only with water over the road in parts. For the Gibb River Road check out www.swek.wa.gov.au/visitors/road-conditions.aspx and download the latest road report. Currently the Gibb River road is open to all vehicles, just some of the side roads have issues still. So the Gibb River Road is now no problem, but getting there via Hell's Gate would be.
