G'day folks a timely reminder to exercise care. A week last Saturday I tripped on the steps out front and went into the concrete driveway head first. The result was three cracked ribs, a broken nose, a torn rotator cuff in the right shoulder and multiple abrasions on my arms. I do not post this to elicit sympathy but to urge all the older members to be very careful with all these Autumn leaves about. It happens in a split second. ( a so called friend remarked that the result was an improvement, he'll keep!)
Well, I guess that the Flinders Ranges is a no-no now and that is annoying me almost as much as the injuries! So folks I hope this is a timely reminder to take care,
Phil.

You're right Phil. You've only got to lose your concentration for a second and disaster can strike. Despite your comments I wish you well and it could have been a lot worse

Know where Your coming from Phil, was on the murry river at xmas & went head over heels down a steep bank just on dusk, left shoulder frozen & torn tendon plus a collection of abrasions & scratches, took 2 months for shoulder to come good, don,t bounce like when I was young, this too will pass.

Don't ever put your arms out to brace for a fall, either forward or back. Try to " tuck and hopefully roll". Looks like scafoids when going backwards and rotators? going forward.
But all the best for your recovery.
