Pet sitting

Hi All, would like to see if we could get enough positive replys to add a pet sitting section on the forum ( following a talk with Admin). Thinking along the lines where people could enter places they are at and willing to do dog sitting for (a fee or swaps for fellow pet owners), you would just enter in what sort of dog and requirements etc. Seems to me there are hundreds of places that this service could be utilized.
Cheers

Hell yes! At present, we take the husky to the vet when we go shopping (every 6 to 8 weeks) so he can have a bath (red dirt/dog with long white hair). But there are no GOOD services out here (where they have play room, shade etc.) for longer stays.

Even in cities (North Adelaide) we had trouble finding places to put our 3 where we felt they would be safe/well cared for. We don't expect them to be coddled, just let outside to run for a bit, offered shade/water and kept together as much as possible (2 are somewhat stressy).

I think it would be a great idea now I've got a new pup.
Perhaps a subforum under this section.

Make it pets generally... people can indicate what they will sit. There will doubtless be size restrictions with dogs (how many CPs only allow dogs under 10kg?!); trying to get our 2 into parks was often a nightmare as they are over that. And so, of course, we added a third, even bigger dog :)

Great Idea,
I was just about to post if anyone knows of a pet Sitter [or good kennels] in Darwin, we will be staying at Howard Springs C/park & will need to leave our two little mates for 1 night / possible 2 nights while we go to Litchfield N.P. for a day trip.
Any help appreciated

regards
Dave & Maz

You've won me. My dogs are registered, have certificate stating worming and needles given. Many camp areas will not take my pure bred dogs, but certain town residents can let their mangy worm infested animals roam without restrictions.

Great Idea, we quite happily do sitting swaps for dogs or cats.
