Reason I ask is that Stonehenge is south of Longreach and Winton QLD is north of Longreach
The road from Winton QLD to Longreach is a goody and should cause no problems. I can't remember the road from Stonehenge to Longreach sorry but Ilfracombe is worth a vist and the CVP should have their popular happy hour in full swing by now. Nice little park.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

The road between Longreach and Windorah, which is the one which goes through Stonehenge, is a sealed road, though most of it is single lane. As long as it hasn't rained recently the road is fine for any van, though since you will need to get off the road for oncoming traffic you need to travel not too fast and if it rains the sides can quickly become boggy so I would definitely avoid it then.
Not sure what you are asking , Which way are you coming from if you are coming from Winton end , You would be traveling from Winton to Longreach then onto Stonehenge road is great , but where are you going to when you get to Stonehenge.
Obviously you are not int V8 Supercars - Winton Motor Raceway - small town, big raceway. There is a nice rest area just near there on the Hume where we have overnighted a few times.

As above, yes! er no. Sorry all, I meant WINDORAH.
Also looking at going through Bedourie, we did that in a AU Falcon 10 years ago. Making our way to Darwin...sort of.
That makes a hell of a difference. The road from Windorah to Longreach was bitumen most of the way when I last travelled it. There was just a few kilometres of very good gravel on the Windorah end. I believe that has now been sealed.
There is an excellent rest area with a good view before you descend the range and go across the flats to Stonehenge. Search for Swan Vale rest area/scenic lookout.

Sounds like to road down through Bimerah to Stonehenge and on through Jundah has improved greatly since I last travelled through there 25 years ago (as it should have). Back then it was unsealed from Bimerah (halfway to Stonehenge from Longreach) on to Windorah except for the main street of Jundah. It might have to go on the list of things to do. Also back then, it was possible to pick up chips of opal around Lyna Glen, but that probably has changed too.
