Looks like the old workhorses are doomed to the milk bottle syndrome as well , technology is spinning along quite nicely , it will be interesting to see if these smaller varieties with twin turbos last the 500k that the older predecessors have ?

The 10 speed box looks promising, the 2litre twin turbo not so much. Only milk and juice should come in 2 litres.

Along with the bi-turbo/10-speed combination, the XLT and Wildtrak will be offered with the same 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel currently fitted, making 147kW of power and 470Nm of torque. It's hooked up to a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual, depending on your preference. The third drivetrain in the Ranger line-up will be a four-cylinder, 2.2-litre turbo-diesel making 118kW and 385Nm.

We bought a new ute 3 years ago, we'll be keeping it for at least another 7 years.

Really like the 3.2 litre donk in my Wildtrak. Would not be interested in the little 2 litre thing. Alright I suppose for the Toorak taxis. Ford just don't get it. Aussies like cubes. They need a V6 diesel for the top line Rangers similar to what VW and Benz are doing.
