Information from the internet is often skewed against products and suppliers. Those people who are happy with the product or service are content in their quiet satisfaction of the product or service and so don't put pen to paper.
But those who are not happy, will be incredibly vocal about how terrible that product or service has been. So when we search for information on Google we are far more likely to be hit with a barrage of disgruntled users decrying the particular product or service.
Mind however, is a good news story.
After much deliberation we finally took the plunge and bought a second hand Ovation motorhome from Avan in Penrith (Sydney). The sales guy (Cesar) was a skilled craftsman answering any objections we may have had and giving us the option to bail out of the sale at any time within the next five days on a $500 holding deposit.
But we bit the bullet and invested in what was for us, quite a significant amount of money in our 'new' motorhome.
The handover itself was another experience. Mark the manager did the handover and he went through each function, carefully explaining the 'ins and outs' of the motorhome. If he found something that didn't work to his satisfaction it was fixed and in a couple of cases with brand new equipment.
We have now owned the motorhome for a while and any question or issue has been handled most professionally and quickly by either Di or Mark.
Next to the house, this motorhome has been our most expensive purchase and frankly it did make me nervous at first, but the people at Avan were so affable and willing to help at every turn it has been a total pleasure to deal with them. It's very easy for the sales people to help make you confident and comfortable but when the chips are down, it's the after sales service you receive that really counts.
(Other than as a satisfied customer, I have no affiliation with Avan).
