New Samsung Tablet

I have a new Samsung t585 tablet and since logging into the Grey Nomads forum website the small ticks on the left hand side of the screen are not there just little square boxes.

Does anyone know how to rectify the setting?

Advice appreciated.

Chris

Hi Chris,

On the top bar, where it says The Grey Nomads Forum, click on MENU in the top right hand corner.

That brings up 4 options. Click on Full Site. That should solve the problem.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

I think you do already Chris but if you open the GN website then click on forums on top right hand side it might be betterer. If I check the forum on my mobile phone it is as you say.

It doesn't bother me. I check down the right side of the forums list and see if any new comments to topic then open that topic if I am intersted in it. I only check the first and second page though.

Thanks for the replies but clicking full site didn't alter anything. As I type this on the left hand side of the page all the Emoticons are not there just square boxes with what looks to be some sort of fragmented icon in them.

Hi Vanman,

Speaking from experience Android phones can be a pain sometimes. Can't help you as I switched to Apple and have forgotten all that I knew!!!!!

Sorry that it didn't solve your problem Chris.

It works on my Samsung tablet and I was guessing that it would do the same on yours.  smile

Hey Chris. I think it has something to do with the format the tablet understands. On my samsung phone the emoticons show up correctly. But your screenshot link comes up with the same problem on my phone. I will check my samsung tablet when l get the chance. On both devices l use the mobile version not the full version.

These are the images (emoticons) that are not being displayed:

These are their URLs:

I find that my versions of Firefox and OffByOne can display the images, but Opera cannot. However, if I use a proxy server, I am then able to display the images in Opera.

I downloaded an emoticon to my HDD and was then able to open it in Opera as a local file. This would suggest that there is no problem with the GIF files themselves. Rather, the problem appears to be in the way that the sparkimg.com server processes the requests.

Thanks to everyone that replied to my post.
I have done some various tweaking in the settings today and found that the GN website is as normal again.

I can't tell you what setting has changed all this as I adjusted/changed a few settings.

Chris
