Went to the quack (doctor) a few weeks ago because I have a very painful shoulder. He suggested bursitis so I dutifully went for the ultrasound and steroid jab. Pain got worse!
Referred to a orthopaedic surgeon for a look see. He informs me the worst thing I can do is fill up on steroids, evidently (according to the surgeon) it causes all sorts of nonesence in the bones.
Long story short. I have 2 tendons busted, thank goodness arthritis has avoided the area, seems the socket has misaligned due to the weakness of down muscles. Now have weekly physio visits, a string of exercises that allegedly will strengthen the down muscles and re align the ball and socket.
When I asked what causes this mess the surgeon said "if I meet a 67 year old who has no tears in these tendons Im seriously surprised" dont get old team.....
OH, still have a painful shoulder, just well exercised now. May need sewing up in a few months. Im NOT happy about another general anaesthetic or 4 weeks in a sling...
Cheers all

Get yourself some magnesium oil, Phil - amazing stuff - in a spray bottle, a little, but often is the go, seems to build up in the sore spot and aid with faster healing.
We all need magnesium in our bodies, read the other day that we are not getting enough. Using it topically when you have an ache or pain, gets to the spot quicker than a pill - which has to go through the digestive system, before arriving (well, some of it anyway) where needed.
Spray on the spot, GENTLY rub into the skin.

I had torn tendons in the upper arm & my Dr said after some rest & then physio these would be fine. These were not fine & I had constant pain. In the end I resorted to acupuncture & after 3 or 4 visits no more pain!
