Planning ahead

I'm a 79 year old male planning a long trip with my small dog into and around Aus for next year... and I'd like to meet a solo female who doesn't really want to be a solo to join me as a travelling companion. Currently I'm living on the NSW Central Coast but I'm planning on selling around September and moving to the Sydney area probably around Hornsby-Dural-Castle Hill.

I don't yet have a vehicle; I want to be able to go onto rough roads if we decide to do so, so I'm open to the option of either a 4wd vehicle plus off-road van or 4wd campervan/small motorhome similar to the Mercedes Sprinter or Ford Transit. I'm too old to rough it so it must have a toilet and shower. Your input will help me make a the correct decision. Oh, and I'm buying so no $ input from you, although it would be good to share other costs such as food and fuel. To keep costs down I'd like to freedom camp as much as possible.

I have no idea how long we'll be away; that's a joint decision, but I have some ideas as to where I would like to go and I am sure you'll have similar ideas. Maybe a bit of fossicking and or gold panning and or opal fossicking might be on the cards. If we're lucky it might pay for the trip. Might.

We need to be compatible so neither of us wants to run home to mum; I'm a Pisces so you need to be either a Pisces or Cancer. Yeah, yeah, I know...

More information about the itinerary through here or private email; more information about me and my dog through a private email.

Good luck in getting the perfect person to fulfill your travel dreams Bushranger. You're a braver man than I!
If you don't get a compatible travel buddy in that time, please don't throw away the idea of solo travel. It can be done in most circumstances and it's a great life out here. You may even meet that travel buddy out here.

Thanks Grubby. Yep, I shall still be going; it's just that I'd like to have someone to whom I can say "Wow. Isn't that fantastic?" or "What shall we do tomorrow?" or "...

I'm not a pisces but I also find that it's nice to share some of the good times. But I don't need or want a fourth husband biggrinbiggrinbiggrin, and I find that there is lots of company if you make the first  move and say "hello" to your free-camping neighbour

Best of luck Bushranger! We found you have to really like each other to enjoy life together in a small box! How you work that out with someone new will be a big challenge. But I also agree it would not be anything like as much fun to go round on your own. Hope you find what you are looking for.
