We took 4 weeks to travel from Qld with friends.
Did things together and by ourselves.
Don't live in each other's pockets..
Go our own way for a bit then meet up again

One night then each go your own way at your own pace. You will see them again when you get home (and still friends)

It also applies to "Overseas Travel".

We travelled with friends (of 20 years) half way around Oz and ended as enemies.

I agree with the above comments. Meet up for one night every now and then and go your own way.

We like meeting up with people but like to do our own thing , But some people must like having company and are prepared to control the situation , I could not camp for a long time with people like at the Greens Lake

We were on the same site in a park for 34 years for the last 15 yrs we had the same folk next door .In that time we bought and sold 3 houses together and ate most of our evening meals together ,attended each others childrens weddings etc etc.We now live 350klms apart and have not seen each other for 2 yrs but speak monthly . In fact we made a pact that whoever falls off the perch first the survivor gets to do the eulogy ! It works for some people and not for others .Cheers.

Very much depends on the people and the location. Also depends on the reason for the trip.
We were 3 weeks in Japan skiing in January, with a couple of friends. Staying together, eating together, sliding together. No problems!
However, were we to try the same thing in caravans, as a convoy, I doubt that we'd manage 3 days!
We are loners, very comfortable with our own company, don't go to happy hour, prefer to do our cookingin the van (don't like sharing our food with flies and other bugs)

We have traveled many time with friends and have rarely had a problem. As long as you have days when you each do your own thing separately.  We have even made friends whilst on the road and been traveling together for a while then departed and went our own ways still friends.

We enjoy travelling with friends now and then, usually on shorter trips (up to 2 weeks or so) and we've had some great times. As others have said, enjoy the company but give each other space. Never had a problem or a fall out.

we do an annual trip with friends ( 3 other couples ) and have no probs. We travel as a convoy but at the beginning of each day usually discuss where we will stop for breaks along the way. When we get to our ultimate destination we do our own thing and when we are all in camp at the same time we happy hour together and sometimes eat our evening meal together. Have been friends for over 30 years and havent had any threats to our friendship by travelling together

"Never caravan with family or friends" is the same as the old saying "Never do business with family or friends"
