Thing is John, there are several recalls for several Jeep models, not all recalls affect all models, but what you've highlighted is just one in isolation. If anyone wants to know which recalls affect their particular Jeep (or any other make for that matter, and there are plenty!) this is the best site to view:

www.productsafety.gov.au/recalls/browse-all-recalls

Gday...

fully aware of that site Tony ... however, that is sort of like getting a bucket-full of chook pellets and throwing them into the pen and then asking someone to search through to find the half length one.

The notice I posted is pertaining only to one particular model and year regarding one particular problem ... that is the current recall.

I have no intention, nor interest, in providing an "index" link so that people can hunt through the site for their particular make/model on the off chance there was one recently - if at all.

I felt, obviously mistakenly from your point of view, that advice of the relevant CURRENT recall for a PARTICULAR make/model would have some relevance and interest to those who own the PARTICULAR make/model nominated in the subject.

Cheers - and at least you read it and took the interest - John

John, I wasn't having a crack at your intent, on the contrary, posting any such info is bound to be helpful to someone somewhere. As a Jeep (Grand Cherokee) owner I was trying to expand on it a little as I am aware of several current and relevant recalls that pertain to various models of the Grand Cherokee which is the most popular/suitable model of Jeep for towing. The product safety recall site is very easy to navigate, just plug in your vehicle make and model in the search line, and presto! a full list of current recalls appears. Maybe not everyone else is aware of this useful site, it helped me when I first discovered it through someone else's tip.

Some of these re calls prevent big problems down stream . They can be a simple wire issue that could lead to fire etc . Which reminds me of air bags in my Subaru.. Tho retired.. I never seem to have time to get them replaced or take to dealer !! Not home at present for example !!
