Short 15amp leads

Hi all,

 

Can anyone point me in the direction of a short (3m) 15amp power lead to run from my genie to my van to avoid coiling it up under the van when in use?

Are they even available ?

Searching only yields the usual 10-20m lengths .

I know I can make one easily enough but would prefer an off the shelf where 240v is concerned.

Any sparkie would make you one. I doubt you will find one "off the shelf".
Good idea. Coiling extension leads creates an overheating and fire risk.

Hi denmonkey, can't answer your question exactly, but I had a sparky make me a short one with 15 amp plugs/ends and heavy 2.5 mm wire. It allows a Honda 2 gen to run the Ibis 3 aircon in plus 40 degree heat with no problems.

 That is legally and technically a 10A extension. The OP needs 15A plug and socket.

Peter, Yes sorry I didn't pick up on 10 amp plug - I normally use Generator place to purchase, but I just typed in short 15amp lead into Dr Google.

I think you will need to get a longer lead cut it the required length and have two separate leads made.

I think a longer lead would be better. It will allow you to place your generator a little further from the van so you will get less fumes drifting into the van. The fumes can also include carbon Monoxide.

 AND the RCD  function is useless , when used with a  portable generator

Just as useless as the one in the van will be

 If you want to be safe from electric shocks to eartth ,Contact "https://www.rvdsafe.com.au/ regarding their plug in units for use with generators & inverters
