SWMBO's directive "I want an Australian Flag and a shade screen for the awning for the next trip"

So I complied and she's stoked!.

Saw some people in QLD who had a privacy screen like that - they had boab trees - I loved it - they got it in WA somewhere, got the details somewhere.

In a past life I was a Graphic Artist in printing and signwriting industries, so, I designed it and sent the artwork to a commercial sign printer in Sydney to have it UV printed on mesh banner material.  The artwork took me a few hours to put together and then the Mesh Print cost me $180 delivered. I had to make some hooks to slide into the awning track to attach the banner but that wasn't a big deal, just used some webbing and plastic hooks to hook into the banner eyelets, then tensioned  it with some bungy cord.

Gday...

Very inventive Steve and meets all the criteria you were set.

Well designed and it will certainly attract plenty of attention.

However, for this shy liddle black duck it is just a bit ostentatious. hmm

cheers - John

It looks great I must say - but the one I saw with the boabs was screen printed onto the privacy screen.

We had a sign Co for 15 years any larger sign or printing Co could do you one thats personalised to what ever you want on it , how much did that one off the shelf cost ? we used to get that weave material supplied and printed for around 15-20 dollars per sq metre , in fact if you are good with surfing the net you could probably get it done offshore for cheaper still .

Hi  Madaboutled ,The downside to your privacy screen is that now everyone will stare at you,  and your privacy goes to the dogs .

It's a shade screen not a privacy screen and considering we had nothing before it really won't affect our privacy.

Details on how it was put together and at what cost is below in reply to newslug.

Yes could have got it offshore cheaper, but I've been dealing with the company that did it, for over 15 years for all the large format stuff that was beyond my own equipment capabilities.

Shade gives some privacy .?? Ours is a mesh - shade cloth type . I would still say its a % of privacy . ?? Not to be pedantic .

That is a great looking shade cloth and it is exclusive, unless someone "borrows" your pic.

Here are some other ones available. Some choices for people without their own artwork.

Thanks,  your google search shows some nice ones too. It also showed a company called Art4Walls which could print from $59m2 I would imagine artwork would be extra.
Mine worked out at including freight at around $28m2 and I saved on print ready artwork doing it myself.

The material seems to be the same being a shade pvc mesh banner and I've made some DIY hangers to slide into the awning track to support it. The Art4Walls has an edge to suit an awning track.  Overall I'm more than happy with the result.

We like to remain low key, so we love our plain one. Each to their own though, enjoy. smilesmile Whatever floats your boat.
