When the power of Love becomes greater than the love of power the World will see peace ! 24ft Trailblazer 5th wheeler n 05 Patrol ute and Black Series Dominator camper trailer ( for the rough stuff)
We had a great Dyson hand held while we were Caravanning in the UK, it cost just £120. It lasted 10 mins on the battery, long enough to clean most caravans.... Then took about two hours to recharge. Lasted us years.
But they are much more expensive here in Australia. So it's a $5 dust pan and brush for us
good luck looking.

Agree with woody n sue if you can go the go the battery drill option. i use a makita but the cheaper versions will work as well. the drill drops the legs then the battery goes in the vacuum cleaner, also have a blower skin for the slab outside takes the makita battery to.
We use a handheld vaccum clear with no battery it just plugs into 12v cig plug on long lead. It was cheap on special at a caravan yard think they were trying to get rid of them! No battery to recharge it has a lot of grunt and is still going OK after 3 years.
We bought a Black & Decker vacuum cleaner. It is small, easily fits into a bottom cupboard. Not cheap and not 12v but it does have a lithium battery that lasts a long time. We bought it for the car and getting into the hard to get places eg cupboards. It has good suction. Not sure how good any of the 12v ones are especially the suction on them. Goodluck
We bought a cheapy from
Bunnings . Bloody wast of $18., The extension on Dyson or generic Dyson type makes for easier work . No bending . Must say our short haired stiff Broom is taking over tho ..
We have a Black and Decker - bagless vac - super powerful, 2 different nozzles for corners, carpets etc. Cost was about $100 - but well worth it - purchased via Kogan.

Thank you all for your input.apart from moose 2 s negative reply.not everyone needs a Dyson, but its nice to have feedback from kind people who also only need a mid range appliance for occasional use.

Hi Fishdodger, Sorry couldnt tell you its in the van in storage. Dont have room at home for a van! But I bought it from the Coromel dealer on Albany Hwy Cannington Perth. It doesnt have an extension nozzle like some have mentioned but was on special. I would expect you could buy this type on fleebay anyway.

A few years ago, while in Tasmania, our diesel heater was playing up. You don't want your diesel heater to play up in Tasmania, so we went to a dometic agent in Launceston, who happened to be part of a Betta Electrical Shop. While the technician was look out at our heater, I (mrs D) was looking at the appliances in the shop, and happily told the shop assistant that as we lived in a caravan, we did not need anything - stove, dishwasher, washing machine etc.
Mechanic outside told us nothing wrong with our diesel heater that a good dose of vacuum cleaner would not fix. Tail between my legs, I purchased a 240v rechargeable Dyson Vacuum Cleaner. Have never looked back!
