New unreadable EFTPOS terminals

Anybody encountered the new EFTPOS terminals? The screen is about the size of a postage stamp and its print is tiny with poor contrast. There is apparently the normal 3 selections - sav-chq-cr. I have had to ask the cashier today and two days ago to make my selection for me. No way I could see it between size and contrast. Today's was United Petrol (ANZ), the prior one was Officeworks.

Struth Rusty. I had to sit down in shock mate. "Office" and "W..k" in one word.

I haven't come across a device like you talk about. YET.

I haven't come across one of those yet RustyD but I do understand from where you are coming.

I find that generally, most electronic devices are either so small or have such small print that the print is qhite often, impossible to read.

I went to my optometrist the other day and he explained that with my eyes anyway, it is difficult to get a prescription that covers all situations.

My current pair are those graded glasses that provide reasonable reading and general use but long distance is not as good.

He has prescribed a new set which he tells me will serve most purposes. I am hoping..

I think it is a challenge amoungst the people that make these electronic devices to make their equipment as small as possible.

I am about to get cataract surgery. My mother (93) had surgery for cataracts a few years ago. Reckons contrast and colour suddenly became good again. She noticed as only one eye is done at a time so you get to see (pun intended) how bad your eyes were/are. I liv e in hope.

Everything is becoming more and more unreadable to me. I wear glasses and have my eyes tested regularly, so I know it's not me. biggrin
