Jayco Starcraft overhead cupboard hinge help

I am new to the forum and looking for some assistance.

Can anyone help me find where I can buy a hinge. The local Jayco dealer said they are not available.

It's a 2012 model and was surprised it's not available as a spare part.

The brand is DGN.

Refer photo below

Thank you

Try brisbane camperland. They're pretty helpful. Probably need your van serial no. Cheers Pete

Norm,

They are not available as an exact match, but Dario Caravans In Adelaide do have the current version of this hinge.

We have a 2012 StarCraft Outback, and I needed to track down the hinges, which I eventually did with help from Dario.

The replacement is the same overall length, but one of the plate sides is bigger requiring different holes. It does fit well though when done.

Their part # is 9/1364 Jayco Cupboard Hinge, and at the time they were $8 each.

Dario contact is 08 82774388.

Hope that helps.

PS they are a much improved and stronger hinge. I have replaced all hinges in the overheads in our 21.66-3 Outback, and they are much better.

Thanks Steve, that's the same as what the Jayco dealer offered. I tried but unfortunately they don't fit, too short etc.

if you hear of anyone in Melbourne that would be great, thanks for your help all the same

Regards

Hinge problem solved.
The young lady at Page Bros Jayco Frankston Victoria saved the day.
Part number is JAC3718Q.
You have to drill some new holes but no big deal, so happy we got it.
It's incredible the lack of interest and knowledge we encountered at the various Jayco dealers until we found someone who was switched on and could read the computer.

Norm,

thanks for letting us know. I suspect they are the same hinges as Dario were able to source, as I know Australian Caravans (Adelaide Jayco dealer) also got some after firstly being disinterested, and then finding out Dario were helping their customers.

G'day Ian. Dario was my next port of call. I was wearing out a lot of shoe leather chasing this hinge but thought that Jayco must surely have a replacement. You just have to find the right spare parts person who likes their job and not there only to fill in their day.
Thanks for your help.
Regards

Just a passing comment - a lot of Jayco dealers are only interested in selling new vans. "If it's broken, we can sell you a new van"!

I'm on my second Jayco but my local dealer has turned me off going back to them! I can get most spares from elsewhere & the service man that they use works for them 3 days a week - the other two, he works for himself & is $100 cheaper on a service!!

To Warren-Pat 01,
I think you are on the money with that observation.
The lock on our toilet cassette external hatch broke while we were travelling.
We contacted Jayco at Bunderburg spare parts, who didn't know what we were taking about. So I sent a photo from the "Caravans Plus" website to them. Still no joy so ordered the part from Caravans Plus and had it sent to a post office in a town we were travelling through in a weeks time. Easy as that. I sometimes wonder why they bother with a spare parts section at all at the dealerships.
