Safety recalls on your car/caravan/camper/motorhome.

Quite possibly many GNs on this forum are not aware that there is a government site dealing with recalls on thousands of items.  Unless a particular recall hits the news media you will possibly not be aware of the possible danger! My aftermarket lower control arms bought a week ago are an example - apparently the hardening process on some was faulty and they are being recalled. If I were not aware they may have failed prematurely.

There have been recalls on most if not all brands of vehicles, some going back to 80's but still current.  With caravans there are 67 listed.  Drill down further and in parts and accessories it covers heaps more.

Anyway, have a look.

Good Luck.

Which is one reason (small) for getting it serviced by the dealer. You can ask them.

I've just pulled a quick 6 recalls that the dealer may not tell you about except possibly the first one.  It's surprising (to me at least) how many products can be potentially dangerous yet unless you keep a constant check on the recall site you will be blithely unaware.

Ya learn something new everyday on this forum, thanks for the original link, was help full for my car.

Browsing the Caravans and Motorhomes section, I recon about 70% of the recalls are from Jayco dating back to as far as 2004, that speaks volumes to me. Stands to reason though they claim to have 70% of the market.

Mazda , extremely SLOW on recall advice to owner. They take over 6 months often. They usually blame it on lack of parts to fix the issue. It is worthwhile subscribing to this service , simple email, very low data and you get a heading which is easy to delete or forward.
