The New Home

I haven't been on here for a while between selling the and setting up the new mobile home. A six speed auto Isuzu DMax ute with aluminium canopy fitted with a sollar panel, 100ah battery and waeco fridge. The van is an 18 ft semi off road Jayco with all the requirements I need to feel comfortable in my travels. The van has 310w of solar feeding two 130 ah batteries, ensuite and had 475 kg of load after tare.  Both car and van were weighed before I left Townsvile and were well under. Look forward to catching up with a few nomads I have met.

Hi Moorey,

Nice setup, let us know how you find the 6 speed for towing, I have a 5 speed manual at the moment and considering updating to a new 6 speed auto MUX or DMAX later this year.

Thanks AL

Hi Al

I have just had my 10000 k service and find the auto 6 speed very easy to drive. Just a little hint when it changes but all up towing 2.3t at 90 to 95 kph I have averaged 15.2 ltr per 100k includes all hilly and flat roads. I did take a wrong turn and went down the horror pass after leaving MossVale but I love the lock me into manual and push the crawl me down the precipice mode.
