Severe storm warning issued for central and east Tasmania.......

Friday November 24, 2017 - 18:50 EDT

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Tasmania's central and eastern districts, with large hailstones and heavy rainfall expected.

The Bureau of Meteorology said a broad trough of low pressure looked like developing into a severe storm this evening as it combined with warm temperatures and high humidity.

The warning applies to the east coast, central and south-eastern Tasmania.

The bureau said large hailstones and heavy rain were likely to fall around Oatlands, Swansea, Bicheno, Orford, Finagal and Bothwell.

Flash flooding in those areas was a possibility, the bureau warned.

1.5-centimetre hailstones were reported in Campbell Town..

Take care out there People.

Just home from 4 warm calm nights away on our yacht anchored of a great beach all to ourselves here in southern Bruny Island Tassie. (didn't even need to  use the dingy to catch a few feeds of fish).  Arrived back on our mooring just in time to pack up  arriving home to thunderstorms,  an overflowing water tank & nicely soaked paddocks. - what a bonus.
