We are at Marrinup Township site - went for a walk today - saw some amazingly coloured flowers - a beautiful tree, with white pompoms all over - gorgeous. Also went up the hills the other day, and all the way there amazing colours and growth - shame about the smoke from the fires though.

I don't believe there is a "season for wild flowers" as it doesn't matter where you travel, there will be wildflowers to be seen (not necessarily the famous ones you are expecting). It all depends on the three keys - moisture, temperature & the soil type. It is amazing that plants are so resilient to live in the varied climates that this country has. Some might bloom for quite some time, while others may only have a very short life.

Yes, You could be right ,when you say that Wildflowers can be found in any season Warren-Pat,
I think it all depends on what type of Wildflower you are looking for, some People ( like myself ) look for the masses of color which are found in the large displays of Everlastings, these can only be found in certain areas and, like you say, only after a good rainfall, they have a very short life span like, "here today gone tomorrow" where-as the Wreath flower, can come out in dry areas, like recently graded road verges, and stay in bloom for quite some time.
Travelling up through the central and Northern Wheat-belt at the present time, we noticed a large collection of trees in flower with large white puff balls, I don't know their name, but they sure looked pretty.
