Lambie and myself took a ride yesterday on the NSW state rail to Newcastle, and caught the ferry service across to the township of Stockton Beach. 2 X $2.50 each for our day out.
We walked and walked some more. We ended up walking the Northern break wall, watching the Coal Ships coming and going.
I pointed out to Lambie a Feral Cat, walking like queen muck. As we got closer it disappeared under the mountain of rock wear. Not a hope of seeing it again.
We walked the entire wall in daylight mind you!
We sighted no less then 14 cats in 2km of a return walk. If only I could get a permit to round them up, +. Well another day.
We are off to yet another property to do the same soon, as the owner says they are out of control on his property yet again.
He has given instructions not to return for Sunday's Lamb shanks lunchon without the goods. Yes Sir.
Looks like Lunch will be served yet again.I think I have now dispatched no less then 2000 plus Moggies.
The country is over run with the ...........

I have Cornish Rex cats. around 600\800 each as kittens (good ones) Knock over some of the feral dogs and Humans instead. they do as much damage and more.
Hey Jim glad you enjoyed your trip to our fair city but it is not the township of Stockton Beach it is the Newcastle suburb of Stockton. Do whatever you like with the feral cats they do nothing but harm to the environment.

hi Jim,
Welcome to Newcastle ! What the Belmont Bear says above is true, it is Stockton just off the ferry. Stockton beach is the vast beach that extends north from Stockton to "forever". The 4WD'ers go there and destroy the dunes, sorry drive around for hours there. And fisherpersons.
Ferral cats are a problem everywhere and not less in the suburbs. They decimate the wildlife and irritate the people.
If you think it's just feral cats doing the damage your all sadly mistaken. Your cute little furball that sleeps on your lap and rubs against your legs does plenty of damage too. The sooner they bring in mandatory registration and night time enclosures for domestic cats the better for our wildlife.
Killing cats, or any animal for that matter, is a terrible, distastetfull thing but, unfortunately, it must be done. I sincerely hope those that think it their lot in life do so humanely and without glee.
