A big thank you to Julie (jules47 - the Happy Helper) and Billeee for driving me into Perth yesterday for my eye operation, and for coming in again today to bring me back - a round trip of more than 200km in total. A further example of their generosity and friendship, and I consider myself lucky to have spent most of the past two months in their company. Looking forward to many more happy hours when and wherever our paths cross in the future.
Safe and happy travels you crazy pair!!
Joe

Thanks Cathy, yes, all appears to have gone well, the surgeon was happy so I guess I should be as well! Now stuck with a course of three separate eye drops that have to be administered at different times of the day - one of them is every hour so looks like I'll be a slave to my phone's reminder app for the next month.
Cheers
Joe

Sounds like a leaky Retina. I was on 4 drops. then 3 for over 12 months. Unfortunately a Supposed "Professor" of opthalmic surgery got his hands on me prior to a good one. and stuffed the Retina Peel.
Call me 1 1\2 eyed Macka Nowadays.
Hey.
Anybody into "Breads". Like, edible with taste Bread.
Go to Woolies Bakery dep't.
They do a 4 grain, With seed. Wholemeal.
Is NECTAR to the tongue. Every loaf would weigh a kilo at least. 800 actually....SOLID. But soft and nicely chewable in the gob.
It's as good. if not better than my home made breads. Sliced.\Unsliced to suit. 2 slices for brekky. Does me all day.

I hope everything goes well for you Joe.
We were pleased to have spent a couple of days at Seabird to meet up with a few people known only by their Avitars and I agree that Jules is a lovely lady.
We are leaving Leinster today heading towards Kalgoolie so on the home run now.
Cheers
WOW - thank you Joe - it's what you do, isn't it? Look after your mates. I appreciate your words though - thanks heaps - happy birthday for tomorrow!!!
Also thank you to the other posters, we just figure that is what you do for your friends - I'm sure they would do the same for us. I feel very happy when I help people out.
Thank you all for your thoughts and good wishes. The problem was caused by some bleeding from the retina which required removal and replacement of the vitreous liquid that fills the eyeball and some laser treatment to the offending blood vessels in the retina. Hope I don't develop a phobia about get-togethers - this happened while I was at Seabird, and the other eye suffered a similar fate at Adreamer's meet-up at Rapid Bay in February! The only good thing to come from both episodes is that in each case the lens was also replaced, as I was developing cataracts which would have required surgery in a year or so.
Cheers Joe
