G-day from the land of the long white cloud

G-day all. We arrived in Christchurch last Friday arvo from 34degs to 13,that made the heater system start to work.

Had 5 days looking around Christchurch. What a beautiful city

Left to day for Mt Hutt. On the way found a beaut pub,had a great meal.

We were there for near on 2hrs no one else came in .Had a great chat to the barmaid about the area.

Thats 5 meals and a few beers they gained.

Will post a few more photos in that forum later to night.

13 degrees is pretty cool for a middle of the night temperature but I have a feeling that you mean that is as hot as it got in the day.

I was in Christchurch a couple of years before the earthquake and loved the cathedral square. I can't imagine it having come back yet.

If I ever go to the South Island of NZ again the one thing that I want to do is take a glider flight around Mount Cook.

Please post photos.

Woody if you get a chance take a drive out to Akaroa it's about 70kms from Christchurch and the site of the original French settlement, we got a snow shower in November as we crossed over the coastal range. Enjoy your trip we've been to NZ 4 times over the years and we have never got sick of going there.

cheers BB
