The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has predicted temperatures in Brisbane over the weekend could reach 33 degrees and Ipswich could soar to a high of 38 degrees.
Hang on chaps, Townsville had RAIN yesterday!
A whole 0.8mm - nothing to prevent our gardens from dying. The area is facing its 5th failed wet season & pumping costs from the Burdekin Dam exceeding $27,000 a day when our dam falls to 15% (it was at 17% yesterday).
Politicians? Is there place we can store a VERY useless bunch (State, Local & Federal in that order) where they cannot escape & do harm elsewhere?

If you don't get it done today, there's always tomorrow!
We're just back home from the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers where the Ugg Boots & Cold weather jacket got plenty of use. Pleasant weather overall though. Fantastic gardens , especially the Grand Champion which was all Aus Native plants. The unseasonal weather knocked a lot of the gardens about, which weren't at their blooming best though.
BBQ (sorry home made Pizzas) with family for delayed Fathers' day on Sunday. Might have to be held in the Aircon room downstairs ... which is conveniently located near the under deck 'Pizza Lounge'.
Bucket of ice full of softies & white wine & a freezer full of ice blocks for the kids. That'll keep them going as they build & cook their own pizzas. Beers rather than red wine for oldies perhaps.
Which reminds me ... The van's Air Con needs attention.
Just be thankful it's finally gonna get warm again.
Been bloody freezin' for weeks now.
People come up here to get warm........ Queensland. Remember.
AAlthough that lot down there are REALLY still in NSW hey.
Just Make believe Queenslanders.
Be thankful we don't get Cold.wet weather hey. where the rain is Cooooold. Ugh.
We here go for up to 7 or 8 months a yr with 98% no rain.
But living alongside Waterpark creek 365 day flow. For drinking water (Bore's, a lot of us)
$1700 for your own personal sweet as, drinking water. ALL yr.
and the mighty Fitzroy System pumping in from Rocky. Also full bore flow.
We never get restrictions.
Just a shame we couldn't figure a way to get it inland to the towns Yes.
There's a awful big bore of water rolling out to sea here.
A Groyne on one side with pumping station.
Would help a lot. While NOT hindering the flow to sea much.
Keep the flow to the mouth then take a bit.
But. funnily. no one (almost) never waters that green bit out the front. Council land.
It goes grey. Or black, every yr.
Till it rains. then within a week it green agin.
