Just installed one in SWMBO's iPhone that has been waiting a SIM card for months.  I can use all that data to download apps & updates while SWMBO practices.  It'll be handy on our flying trip to Bowen next week too.  I'll use it as a hot spot, if I can work out how.

By the time that I got it with fast post & for some reason, insurance, it cost me about $18 but that's OK.

I think that the low price is for one 30 day period only though.

Kogan use Vodaphone network these days, so this will be a one month deal for us.  Then probably off to BOOST for the Telstra Network.

Edit

Sorry, when the Vodafone runs out we will probably switch to Aldi L $25 pack.

It includes Unlimited Calls & SMS + 2.25g Data with 30 day rollover option + 100min International and uses part of the Telstra 3G network.  (97% coverage they claim) through the reseller Medion.

Be mindful of frustratingly poor reception and coverage with these cheaper carriers, I am back with Telstra after a year or two of constant signal drop outs.

This is the deal that I got.  Looks like a one off 30 day at that price, then $50.  They sent us two sims too.

So far it works perfectly though the iphone battery seems to flatten rather quickly.

For us the Aldi $25 with 3 Gig suits us better even if its 3G & not Vodafone 4G.   SWMBO only uses email & facebook so that will be fast enough & ample data.

Just upgraded our Telstra deal, $50/month, 8gig of data, $1,000 of calls & unlimited texting. The only sensible carrier for decent reception all over Australia. You get what you pay for.

Hi Papou,

I dunno yet, as I took a three day special from Dick Smith Kogan after getting a new wizz bang phone. It was  just over $206-00 with a 5 GB per 30 days download  offer for 12 months. That's a good offer for a newby like me.

Mind you I live in Dandenong Vic, a city area for 9 months of the year so reception is great. I took advice from my brother who is with Vodafone them for the last 4 years with no problems.

Only on it for 3 weeks and maps, and all internet, Skype is sound. No worse than aldi which was also good.

Country use is unknown as yet but my biggest concern is mapping and I have it covered with an excellent Garmin GPS.smile

Telstra.

Mine is $30pm. $700 calls $200 O\S calls. 3 gig of Data.

Di is Simplicity. $30 per 60 days. ALL calls 15c per min. Here and O'S
We do a lot of O\S.

I just transfer my $30 (Credit me 2 u) every month, then she can use that as 15c calls.

She just forgot to recharge. Again. Lost over $230 of MY cash credit. Again.

Wish she'd do Auto recharge.

For average usage. we find this the best. I never hardly use ph. Madam does.

$90 for 2 phones, 2 months. ($60 me, $30 her)
$1400 calls ($400 O\S calls, 6 gig data. I use WiFi Cloud a bit. MY ph.

Plus $60 my "credit to her" gives 15c per min calls worldwide. HER ph.
