The woman's sister, Pennie Gross, said another person known to her sister decided to take the car for a drive about 3:00am.
Ms Gross said her sister was left all twisted up in her swag because it had been tied to the vehicle's bull bar at the time.
"Luckily the ropes must have broken off," she said.
