He'd had the disease for many years. I heard an interview back in 2012 with songwriter Jim Webb who wrote a lot of his hit songs. He said that he was disgusted with Glen's family who

were trying to make a bigger inheritance for themselves by making him perform on stage when he really didn't want to.

He needed a visual prompter to remember the words & most of his guitar playing was pre recorded. Poor bugger!

In my book he was a singer ( one of the few ) that you could understand what he was singing about, he had a great voice and sang songs with a meaning,

Damned shame his family thought more of their inheritance than his welfare,  no  serves them right, if he left all his wealth to a home for old Cowboys, or retired Country Singers.

Not so sure about the views attributed to Jim Webb.  But people do strange things where money is involved.

I just watched an interview with his good, close & long time friend Alice Cooper who only had praise for Glen's family and gave no hint of any exploitation of him in his final years.

Earlier today I watched one of his last stage shows which as you know included a few {3?) of his children.  I saw nothing but apparent love and respect between them.

Who knows what the real truth was.

My task for the next few days is to see if I can put together a tribute complation to share with SWMBO as we set off on our next van trip.

Such a sad end for such a talented and great artist

The Jim Webb (his closest friend) interview that I heard was on ABC radio when Jim was in Australia in 2012. He was scathing in his comments about Glen's family.
