Copi Hollow Caravan Park is a bit out of Menindee but pleasant - waterfront sites, if there is water in Copi Hollow.
We stay at Broken Hill Caravan Park - on Adelaide road. Fairly central. Secure. Reasonable quality. Wood chip surface on most sites.

Both are pet friendly.

To go direct from Mildura to Menindee will involve unsealed road travel. If you want to stay on sealed top, need to go via Broken Hill.

Opposite the Managantang pub going up thu Sea Lake towards Robinvale is free. Lots of spots on the Murray. Suggest if you have an IPad or android get WikiCamps. Well worth $7 or so $. I got the iPad version and can load it on the iPhone at no extra cost. Would not go direct from Wentworth to Menindee unless you have a strong car and van with tough tyres. Stayed at Copi Hollow a few times and Penrose Park at Silverton. Also the park on the Adelaide side of BH.

Fort Courage west of Wentworth is nice. There are two large rest areas along the Silver City Hwy that have camping areas out the back right away from the road. Bunarungie & Popiltah.

I used to work just out of menindee on a property and we always traveled from mildura to pooncarie along side the darling river, plenty of places to free camp.
after menidee all sealed to broken hill, dont forget to watch out for the roo all the way up there.
mildura up through that way is unsealed unless it has been raining is fine with a caravan, very peaceful and quiet.

Pomme.
