Hi guys, has anyone travelled the road between the Three Ways roadhouse in NT and Longreach recently. SOme people have told me that it is in poor condition while others say it's 100%. So confused at the minute as to whether we travel that way back to Albury or just go straight down the Stuart. Any advice much appreciated.
Best to ask at the Three Ways servo, or travel the few extra kilometres (about 15) to Tennant Creek, for up to date info
I was on that road in 2014, and it was all bitumen along the Barkly Highway, from Three Ways to Concurrency, and then the Landsborough Highway to Longreach, and beyond
Certainly the road from Three ways to Cloncurry is fine.
Good bitumen all the way.
Haven't gone form there to Longreach, but I suspect it would be no worse that the road through from Cloncurry to Hughenden, which is decent bitumen if a bit undulating.

It's generally good road. You will find any broken up bits will be attended to fairly promptly and they will now be roadworks. Just slow down to the new posted speed limits and you will get through OK. If the roads out there are too bad for your caravan they will be closed for a few days, just mark time and you will be OK

Tulky - Agree with Tony We did it in September 2016 good road - all the way - just beat the floods. Go to Tennant Creek anyway to get cheaper fuel & a hell of a lot better choice of food etc than Roadhouse at 3 Ways.
