Wilcania to Bourke along the River.

Hi all, we are planning a trip from Adelaide to Karumba QLD and want to head through Brocken Hill, Wilcania - Bourke. Can anyone tell me if the road / track along the river is ok, and if so, which is the better of the two, north side or south side. ?

We have an off road 14' van and Dmax, but if the road through there is too rough, we'll give it a miss. We are in no particular hurry so speed doesn't matter.

Cheers Dusty.

It all is weather related. If it is dry then very doable just lower tyre pressures for the unsealed roads and lower speed.

You will find great camping spots and do call into Tilpa and Louth Pubs.

We have been over both roads with our van camping at many spots and caughtmany yellowbelly.

Took us 3 weeks to do this treck and enjoyed every minute. We just love the bush.
