New members long time travellers

Ann & James Smith Morphett Vale SA. We have been zig zagging away across large areas of Australia since our son was 10 months old, her turned 40 in January. We purchased our first van a 17ft 6 birth Adventurer for $1,200. We towed the van with a XB Falcon station wagon on LPG. My parents and 2 kids went everywhere and even places a Ford and van should perhaps not go.

The kids grew up, parents got too old to travel so our old faithful van was sold for $3,200 some 10 years later.

Just the two of us and in 1994 we purchased a Spaceline 17ft pop top. I own a yellow XR6 so the van extensively modified was nicknamed Snoopy's Den, as it contains the unexpected.

We are now both aged pensioners and slowed down somewhat by now we are free to just get up and go when our feet get itchy, and the open road beckons.

If you spot a yellow XR6 with a matching old pop top in tow, give us a wave or join us in a cuppa in a layby.

Welcome to the gang Ann and James, enjoy here and out in the playground.
Sounds like you already enjoy the playground and seasoned travellers but this "aged pensioner" thing made me feel 'aged' but then I walked past the mirror.....ooops.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

G'day Ann and James and welcome to the forum.  Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit.  Sounds like you are well seasoned travellers.

Pete and Marion
