Very new to this camping lark. If I pitch my tent at a powered site, can I plug the 15 amp cord from the CP source to a power board in my tent to boil a kettle for instance. Just asking?
At some point you will need to change your 15 amp connection to a 10 amp connection. I think a 10 amp fused power board plugged straight into the 15 amp cord will suffice. Vaguely remember doing that back in the 1980s.
There are power board type devices (not cheap) that have RCD and Circuit breakers on the board. That is your best protection in the tent. Needless to say, be safe inside the tent and dont get any appliances wet (other than the coffee machine lol).

I thought caravan park power outlets had to have an RCD fitted by law?

Caravan parks normally have 15A supply outlets protected by circuit breakers and residual current devices, but may use an outlet of another rating or configuration for specific anticipated types of relocatable premises (reference#1, see at end) The latter really only affects very specialised sites catering for mining staff.

I tell you MANY are not .. just be aware a tent is NOT a weather proof building elect wise ..
You could be right - also in the same article:
If you have accommodation which is not hardwired, eg. a panel van, tent, small tent trailer, etc., a caravan park owner cannot legally supply you with 240V power unless the circuit is RCD protected.
Just go to any hardware shop and buy a small power "box" that has 4 outlets and an RCD and overload fitted, rated at 10A. That's what I have. Use it on the end of any extension cord, 10 or 15 amp rating. It will run your toaster or jug or heater etc and just use common sense about getting anything wet or overheating anything.
Yep, buy a 240v jug, toaster, a couple of lights, heater if required & take a battery charger to run your aux battery for your fridge.
Just do it safely.

PS - our toaster, jug & heater lasted our tent trailer, Jayco camper & only the heater has been shed with our van - all in 11 years of good use.
