I thought I'd seen just about everything do the full circle but now I see some grey nomads selling mangles AKA wringers on Ebay. Many on this forum will remember the fear of feeding not just the wet clothes but your fingers through that arm- eating machine.

Ha, we used Hoover twin tub spin-driers for that Macka. Made some of the holes bigger for better flow. Local washer mechanics in the West were making a killing on those with boaties for a while, until we realized that plastic stormwater pipe (circle of nylon kitchen cutting board in bottom to protect base-cap), was quieter when you mashed. We used a bit of broom handle with ally tube cut saw tooth at bottom as a masher. Still do. But, er.. off topic I guess.
