Hi. Just getting the van ready for a quick 4 week trip, and am trying to test the Brakesafe operation.
Instructions suggest pulling the "PIN" or "SWITCH" mounted at the front of the "A" Frame, with the result that the brakes will be applied and the Stop Lights will illuminate;- so goes the theory.
My problem is that I can not pull the switch or pin out..... are they meant to be hard to remove...... or should they come out without excessive force..
I have tried, with 2 hands, with what I consider to be near on excessive effort, to no avail.
Hook a pair of pliers on to it and give it a good tug. Be aware the pin has two little bits on the end which can break off. A new pin is about $18. Pays to have a spare. Cheers daz
Ensure you are pulling in a straight line ie. not lifting and pulling Be aware that this should not be done immediately before leaving, as the brakes will remain on for about 15minutes.
