Those lucky enough to be travelling north to Cooktown and beyond should stop for a while at Ringers Rest at Mareeba FNQ. Fabulous open paddocks 100acres and fabulous people who own it.more suitable for self contained vehicles but offer facilities. $10 per night for a great experience!!!
Very friendly horses there one decided he would come and join us in the caravan - begging for food.
Organise a Balloon flight from there you'll save about $80.

Agreed ... we stayed with them several times around 18 months ago and it was one of the best places we visited up that way
