RE: Fish & Chips

I second Maddigans.

When you see the que coming out onto the footpath they must be doing something right.

I would say the best fish and chips on the north coast of Tassie would be Buccaneers in Winyard, or used to be its been a while since i was over that way

Heading up to near Yeppoon tomorrow. We'll be pumping some nippers on the mudflats at low tide & catching Whiting on an incoming tide.

Whiting coated in flour, egg & breadcrumbs cooked along with chips made from purple eyed Kestrel potatoes. Aaah! You can't beat freshly caught homemade.

Keith do tell me or PM me where you will be digging up those nippers n cahsing those Whiting ??, do know they catch some elbow slappers there somewhere incomming tide in the creeks ???

"Burdekin Duck" is a small caravan park/roadhouse about 12kms out of Charters Towers towards Townsville. Last October 2016 it was charging only $25 for a powered site with showers etc. Not that modern but good hot water and very clean. The owners used to own a Fish&Chip shop in Charters Towers but took over the small roadhouse some years ago which brings me to the point; the best fish I have had for many years and a better than usual assortment of hot food. Oh, and their diesel was cheaper than in town and no, I do not have any shares or financial or otherwise interest (I live in Melbourne) it's just a great little spot with homely owners. Cheers Dan
