Have posted this screen shot of an app that I think is necessary for all - having just read about an SOS sign from stones, spotted by a helicopter in remote WA, I thought I would put this up on it's own post. Easy to install - uses gps technology - great app - AND FREE!!!
Just search for Emergency + - simple as that, developed by an ambo in Sydney.

That's a great idea Jules, Thanks for bringing it to the notice of everyone, anything that will assist people get out of trouble in the Bush, just has to be good.
I haven't been into it and studied this App real close as yet but, I will be looking very soon and downloading it, just in case.
There is still no word on that SOS sign found in the W.A. outback, It may have been there for a long time, or possibly the work of idiots on the grog, just doing things to worry the Authorities,
K.J.

Down loaded an emergency app a while back and it appeared to be a constant drain on the battery, may not have been the same app.
I think the one I installed was always updating my location via GPS so drained the battery very quickly
Cheers
David
Just phone numbers are listed, mate. Both in the App and Contacts.
Edit.....Sorry forgot to say. Great weather here in the tropics. I hope QLD can keep the record in tact. JT just signed up for another season with the Cowboys. BUT go STORM then the Cowboys. QLD during State stuff.

I'm happy with it. I'm looking at the Optus iPhone attachment that apparently turns your mobile into a sat phone.
We looked at that sleeve thing Bryan, it looks good but dont want to bash my iphone around in the Toyota doing bore runs so are going for a sat phone which hopefully can handle it.
