Well, I haven't been here for ages. I'm currently staying at the Kununurra Showgrounds park, (cheaper than the others), waiting for a broken window to be replaced. 3 weeks and still no spare part, aaaahhhhh. It's gunna cost $1000.00 bucks on insurance, the window had to be ordered from Mercedes in Singapore.
Anyhow, today Ballast 2 and his two beautiful furballs arrived, it was nice to say Hi.
My wife and I are heading up to Kununarra in June. I wonder if you have any knowledge of the air tours out of Kununarra.
We would like to do an extended day flight to see as much of the Kimberle as possible. I have been told that seeing it from the air is something special. We won't have time, and don't have the van that would handle the likes to the Gibb River road etc.
Would still like to see as much as possible in the short time we will have.
Hope you fix your problem soon, and can start enjoying the holiday again.
.
Thanks, Barry
PS, What is the cost at the Showgrounds ? Any facilities ?
I shall have to remember not to be there, around the week of the Annual Ag. Show: July 6 to 13, when it is not open for travellers
It is approximately 5,000 kilometres from my home to Darwin, so if I casually mention that I have found a nice place to stop along the way, it may be the tipping point for the boss to come with me
I also like what I read, about the fees going back into the community, can not book so it is first served is best dressed, and the free washing machines.
I say well done to Kununurra
I have been through that area, (which has plenty of free camps), so never knew about the showgrounds, and the wife has not been north of Port Hedland area
G'day all.. As Leslie said we are at the showgrounds as well. Getting our aircon looked at tomorrow. Will know how long we are staying after that. Not a bad place if you are travelling with pets. Bugs at night are annoying but I do not know if that is just here or if it is the same everywhere. We hope to get to know Leslie more in the next few days. For those with pets a pet sitting service is available.
Cheers.

Our group of three vehicles, 2 x MH's and 1 x caravan - at that time you had to have a pet to stay there, luckily we had three dogs between us.
This was about four years ago. Price was very reasonable, and you could, if you like to walk, amble into town from there.
We did a flight over the Bungle Bungles, Lake Argyle and Argyle Diamond mine - the countryside is spectacular from the air, Bungles were amazing, I had been in there and camped several years ago, so to see it from the air, was amazing - how far we walked, and how huge the area is. Used Kimberley Air - nice people to deal with, picked us up at the caravan park across the road from the showgrounds, and dropped us back there.
