Concept Innovation 620M-C - Feedback requested

We are looking to purchase a Concept innovation 620m-c caravan. We are new to the caravanning world and would appreciate any feedback on other peoples dealing with Concept and this van in particular. Are there any extras that should definitely be added. Thanks for any assistace given.

I don't have any personal experience but: There have been some reports on the Lemon caravan site about shoddy workmanship, faulty appliances and general lax attitude by dealer/s - There are no reports that I can find of any major faults or leak history - So basically you should have your caravan audited prior to pick up by a engineer or someone knowledgeable about caravans and you should be OK. But it may pay to visit some of the other caravan forums that are not supported by advertising etc from manufacturers.

Welcome to the gang Glenda and Ross, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Make sure it is really what you want and need. Also make sure you look at alteratives as you might find better. Enough Solar and batteries with a good regulator of size to suit. Check the ATM allows for all your needs as well. No use having nice big fresh water tanks and when water is in them you are over the ATM.

Glenda and Ross hi and welcome.

Yes I do own a Concept, a second hand Nov 2012 sold in March 2013 19'6" Vision I brought at a clearance sale after we had spotted a new one slmilar at dealers yard with the some specs.

It seems sturdy enough, sits nice on the road, has good functionality, the ensuite is large enough for us medium size people our van has a centre door, bed at front. No fancy timber just plain white fixtures and done about 18000 kilometers, we love it, well I do, she understands you cann't fit 35feet into 20feet without compromise.

In all it looks like it will be around for sometime.

Cause if I was to lay out thousands for a new van. There would be a less init starting with 8 less power points, no microwave oven, no washing machine, the tap over the hand basin would be on a swivel so you move it out of the way when you are trying to wash your face (dumb idea), no to European plastic roof vents for our Australia summers, our 4 season was much better in the heat. Water filter under the kitchen bench hard to change over, it will be going. Exterior light is a sensor type turns off when you need it. The centre door/flat floor when you stop and want to put up the awning it needs to go right up other wise the door scapes the vinyl, we do lije our centre door. We think we liked our wind out windows better, the insect screens and blockout give some grief, I learnt to fix them quick with a electric screw driver. Water tanks don't fill real well.

Don't get me wrong there is some dumb ideas in caravaning as in camper trailers and tents and its all about compromising. Concept is there with all tye other manufacturers theygood and bad days, reasonnally I found all the heavy 12volt wiring was damaged though oxidation needing extensive replacement, job done and this will show up on a lot of vans in the next few years.

I hope in some small way this will help.

G'day Glenda and Ross..........we own a Concept Innovation 550. Single axle, single beds, 2x solar panels, 2x100AHr batteries, extended drawbar, front tool box, Cruisemaster Independent suspension, leather, washing machine, great size shower, grey tank, ESC etc etc.

Picked it up last year in May and immediately headed off around Australia. Did the lap and have just completed 2 months around Tassie as well.

The van handles like a dream. We towed it around the mainland with our Dmax and have recently bought a 2017 Wildtrak which is awesome.

We cannot fault the build quality of the Concept van. They built ours with my bed at 6'8" to accomodate my 6'4" bod. The internal floor to ceiling height of 6'6" is awesome for a tall person and I don't have to duck or stoop when inside. I do have to stoop in other vans that don't have the same internal height.

Our van has an ATM of 2500kg's. Tare is 2070kg's so we have a reasonable payload. On our recent trip to Tassie, we stopped at the weigh bridge at Kilmore and everything was under our limits (Car, van etc). A I said, it tows like a dream and if you wanted, could sit on 110 on the freeways. Our ballweight is around 245kg's and Ive never used a WDH. Car drops around 25mm at the rear when I drop the van on. The front raises less than 10mm.

So, from someone who actually owns a Concept Innovation (from new), I would thoroughly recommend the brand.

FYI.........I am on Facebook and subscribe to the Lemon Caravans page...........there has NEVER been negative mention of the Concept brand on the page. Plenty of other brands on there and you'll be surprised at the brands you see.

PS...........Our friends were impressed enough to order and collect the exact same spec van as ours.

Good luck with your purchase.

Ciao.
