G'day adreamer. Sorry, not a cyclone yet only a tropical low. BOM thinks it will form tomorrow. If it does it will be called Blanche. All should be good by Tuesday but we never know for sure with the bloody things.
Cheers.

Its having trouble getting a good rotation together, the rain is very constant now with well over 50mm overnight, should slide down to northern WA in the next day or two.
This will push us over the 2 meter rainfall mark for this NT wet season.

Thanks for update. Someone from the Media said it formed into a cylcone over the Tiwi's - Your information is more reliable.

G'day. Cyclone Blanche has just formed 80 klms to the NW of Darwin and is tracking south west at 12 kph. If you wish to follow it, BOM has a tracking map on their NT page. Only some wind and rain at the moment. It is small.
Cheers.

When I lived in Darwin back in the 90's there was never a loaf of bread or candles left in the aisles of the Supermarkets after a cyclone warning, bet that has happened again!

This afternoon the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said the category one Cyclone Blanche, located about 105 kilometres west-northwest of Darwin in the Timor Sea, was strengthening as it moved southwest, away from the city.
"Tropical Cyclone Blanche is south of the Tiwi Islands and is expected to continue tracking to the southwest, parallel to the coast, and intensify further, crossing the north Kimberley coast later on Monday as a category 2 system,"
