Hello Again, next I am considering my licence and vehicle registration. I will be leaving this place where I live (in NSW) and therefore technically I will have "no fixed abode". In NSW I have to declare a change of address for my drivers licence within 14 days but of course I won't have a permanent address - what do you guys do about that??
Similarly registration. I have been looking at a van which is from WA and will retain its WA plates. Once again in NSW, if I have an interstate registered vehicle then I have to re-register it in NSW after (I think) 3 months. But I will no longer have a NSW address and so I believe I should be able to leave the van on WA plates irrespective of the state of issue of my licence.
Am I over-complicating this??
I see plenty of large trucks with Federal Interstate plates but never a smaller vehicle
WA will require a WA 'home' address before changing the rego to your name. Might be a problem with an other state licence as well. Commercial trucks have different rules allowing interstate rego.

You need 2 things.
1. A postal address.
2. A "garaging" address for each of the vehicles.
They might be in different States and different for the tug and the van.
My daughters address is now my address as I am full time on the road.
It has also just become my eldest sons address as of last week as he is going full time on the road.
Everything we own e.g cars insurances all go to what is now our new address.
