Halfway Creek Truck Stop NSW

I am travelling down from Brisbane and looking at stopping at New Italy or Halfway Creek overnight. My question is whether Halfway Creek is now a day time only stop or can you free camp in a self contained caravan overnight?

Thanks John. Wiki camps has it as an overnight camp but some others say that it is day only. Confusing. Have camped overnight there before.will try it again this trip. Cheers, Phill.

Last few times we were through that way the actual rest stops had been removed whilst roadworks were taking place. However there is still access to the service station, you can overnight on their grounds if you desire.

Know a couple who stayed at Half Way Creek  a couple of weeks ago. overnight.

Stayed at New Itialy one night, the noise was very bad, Just so close to Highway.

A few weeks ago we passed the spot and I noticed that it is not currently accessible for northbound travellers. I also had a look at it on Google maps, the spots where you can cross the highway to go back and then recover your north bound route are just too far to bother doing that.
