Walked into BCF on Thursday. Blackboard out front Says $19.99 refill on 9kg gas bottle.
Then I was reading there web site.
They guarantee to match any competitors advertised price on anything they sell. ( I like looking in Anaconda too.) Good to run off a copy and keep with, all your other travel papers in case you receive emails from other suppliers (Bunnings) of things like toilet needs etc.
If your traveling after Easter it might save you a few dollars.
Hey Jim, if I had know that a week or so ago, Bunnings would have beat it by 10%, instead I paid Bunnings the $19.XX.
On long trips, I may leave home with one empty gas bottle, then fill up at a Coles/Shell with Diesel 100++Lts and swap over the Gas Bottle $25 for 10c/lt off the fuel along with the 4c shopper docket.
BCF advised me a couple of years ago to get my Swap and Go bottles refilled when empty, when a bottle gets near it's use by date pay the bit extra and swap it over for a newer one.
Hard to work out how the retailers calculate their prices. Here in Forster NSW the local servo charges $14.90 for a 9 kg and Barbeques Galore charge $15.80. A few kilometers up the road they are charging 29.00 for the same refill. Go figure?
For those with bottles that are near/out of date; most "Swap and Go" gas bottle outlets just give you the key to the storage cage and you swap out for yourself, so even if your bottle is out of date the whole idea is to get the "Old Bottles" out of circulation. Swap it for an indate bottle and you/we are all compliant.
Be careful when checking for the cheapest as some of the prices are over a year old but still a handy link as it has phone number of seller and opening hours.
