RE: The donation sites

Gee Grubbygypsy, only a couple of us seem to have read your post with some sort of understanding, can only agree with you but like a lot of things some of us cop it while others just breeze along blissfully ignorant.........

I agree Big Mal, that and the self righteousness of others.

Hard to believe some people have nothing better to do than look in donation boxes - all the way to the bottom! If I saw someone doing that I might wonder if money was coming out, not going in.

Yes, it is right we should all pay, not just those with a rig.

Cheers John.

They changed the free camp at St Lawerence because of the bludgers who wouldn't donate but thats nothing to do with your OP.

Yeah thanks Big Mal.....I do ask that people I converse with are smart....but it's a big ask these days lol.

Im not a good writer, so I think I was probably not clear with the SORT of sites I was talking about. The hammering I got from the 'holy' (lol).....I just can't help but think about WHY these fees exist.....but....that's cos I'm a thinker....and I'll guarantee you I could guess who the rest vote for.

But.....all good.....

i happen to be at a donation camp site ATM which is just a pearler....and no one coming in from outside to use amenities provided.....hahaha....I reckon I'm the ONLY person that's gone to the box since Friday........AND....some OC let litter go because he couldn't bend down to get it.....I took his rego of both car and van.....because THAT isn't on for me!!!!!

It's a game with some people to see how little they can spend when on the road . Next thing will be Grey nomads drive off from service station with caravan in tow. If someone on the road fulltime and don't own a house and on a pension can get rent assistance .

I have nothing to do with government assistance if that's what you're implying there?

many of these donation camping areas are maintained by local volunteers who want to do the best for their township. They don't get paid for it and often purchase from their own pockets the cleaning gear, toilet rolls etc which are supplied. The local council also often built the toilet block and they have to pay to clean out blockages or full septic tanks

What annoys me is seeing the camp users walking out with rolls of toilet paper - I even saw a female come trundling out with a toilet brush and holder - really !!!!!!!!!

If we use a donation area, we pay, even though we use our own toilet paper and if necessary clean up the toilets if someone has been dirty in them.

Without donations, we wont have low cost sites and we will be forced to either free camp with no toilets and hand basins or cold water or stay at a caravan park and pay $25-60 a night.

Yeah............but..........what's the craic when it's others using it is what I'm saying? I think whoever is running the show needs to take another look at it....that's all I'm saying.

Yes John......I reckon we're being stiffed. That's all.

Ive also spent 4 nights at a donation site watching the comings and goings of (presumably people from this site) - and I haven't seen a lot of 'box action' going on.......emptiest vessel makes the most noise eh? Or squeakiest wheel gets the most grease!!! Lol.

Well.......I'm glad I could see some people could see my point rather than blindly being sheeples.
